¬ ROSS COOKS UP A STORM IN ASSEMBLY

DUP MLA Alastair Ross has played his part in helping to raise money for Cancer Research NI by contributing to the ‘Assembly of Recipes’ cookbook, which features mouth-watering dishes from 80 of Stormont’s Assembly Members.  

Speaking at the event in the Long Gallery, Parliament Buildings, Mr Ross said,

¬ ROSS SECURES DEBATE ON FUTURE OF PRINCES GARDENS CHILDRENS HOME

DUP East Antrim MLA Alastair Ross has secured an adjournment debate on the issue of the proposal to close the only children’s home in Larne. The debate will take place at Parliament Buildings on Monday 24 November 2008.  

Mr Ross said that the primary motivation is to ensure that the children in care are not forced to move away from the area and said that the Princes Garden home is an example of best practice in a number of areas.

¬ ALWAYS BEGGS TO DIFFER

East Antrim MLA Alastair Ross has hit back at Roy Beggs’ latest absurd position about the DUP’s handling of the Environment portfolio.

Mr Ross said, ‘It is very unfortunate indeed that Mr Beggs should attack the DUP Ministers, both past and present, on their handling of the Environment portfolio. Further to this, he attacks the DUP for supporting a cut in bureaucracy and unaccountability. This just doesn’t make sense.
