ROSS WELCOMES MAGHERAMORNE GO-AHEAD
East Antrim MLA Alastair Ross has welcomed the news today that a large scale eco-village has got the green light for development in Magheramorne. Mr Ross said that this is great news for East Antrim and will have a positive impact for Northern Ireland as a whole.
Commenting, Mr Ross said,
"The Magheramorne site is similar in size to the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, which has also been granted permission for a major development. The quarry proposals are a massive project that will create hundreds of jobs and have a hugely positive impact not only in the local area but on the building and construction industry regionally.
In addition to the planned hotel, film studios and mountain biking facility, there are also plans for a diving centre and ground breaking eco village.
This development will certainly put Larne on the map for such an ambitious and forward looking project, and it is pleasing that after some time the proposals have been granted the go ahead." |
